Mother’s Garden is a non profit organization promoting the healing of Mother Earth and her creatures, creating cooperation and understanding between peoples, cultures and creation. We intend to be a catalyst for grassroots action on crucial global issues. Our first project is the dwindling bee populations.
Our vision is to motivate the most innovative minds on the planet, including those 26 and under, the Millennials to take on Bee-The Movement™. We are developing unique campaigns and events to attract attention, raise awareness, inspire and motive people. By developing trademarks we will be able to create products and services to support our efforts and to develop our global presence.
We welcome the creative talents of kindred spirits who support us.

This is simple. Without bees there is no pollination. Without pollination there is no cocoa. Without cocoa there is no CHOCOLATE!
The potential impact of the dwindling population of bees and other pollinators is huge that people have a hard time grasping what this means to them. Bees are responsible fo the pollination of at least 140 crops including many fruits, nuts, vegetables, coffee, cocoa, herbs and spices, forage crops for livestock and plants of medicinal benefit. This is so overwhelming, how can people really relate to how they could be affected?
We looked at producing a documentary on the cataclysmic affect of the disappearance of the bees on humanity. As we researched doing, we realized that it would yet another environment heavy film playing mainly to the choir- to those who already understand that our world in trouble. However, these films aren’t producing the level of involvement by people which needed to create the changes. For many people I feel these land heavily leaving people feeling that the situation is beyond them to cope with.
We have been looking for ways to awaken people, motivating and inspiring them to become involved.
The Day ALL the Chocolate Disappear™ grabs people’s attention on a visceral level. Chocolate is somethings many people love and women rely on to deal with hormonal stress. It’s powers to elevate mood are well-known and appreciated. We’ve experimented with this line for a campaign for bringing people awareness of the impact of the contribution of bees on humankind. Most people had an immediate gut level reaction, a desire to help in whatever way they could and for many, to immediately get some chocolate!
Potentially we could get industry support for this campaign and we have some initial interest.
Additionally there are other major impacted foods, coffee, citrus, almonds, wine, beef and dairy because cattle feed is affected, soybeans, and even hot peppers. And of course, honey!
We’re looking for people with industry contacts, especially on major boards or CEO level contacts of major businesses. Your help, ideas and energy is welcome.

The philosphy of Mother’s Garden is to focus on what we want to create. The problem is the dwindling population of bees globally. What we want to create is Bee Abundance™. We will be looking at where the problems exist and where the problems do not exist. What are the differences? What are the healthiest ways that bees can be propagated?
Science and industry can get stuck in their thinking about a problem and can be affected by interests which may not be on track. We intend to ask questions to spur investigation into new pathways toward solutions.
An example I think of readily is some producers take 100% of the honey from the bees and feed them corn syrup or sugar water instead.
Note: There are areas where bees are feeding on garbage instead of flowers. Bees can be imprinted by humans to feed on sugar instead of nectar. Bees can be trained
There are a myriad of stressors affecting bees, and one theory is that they are suffering from a kind of immune disorder. We do know that one of the studies currently being funded is to create fortified kind of bee feed called Megabee. While the writeup about this ‘miracle’ feed for bees, sounds good, bees produce honey to tide them over winters when they cannot harvest nectar.
http://www.ars.usda.gov/is/pr/2008/080214.htm They need 1/2 to 1/3 of their honey to overwinter successfully depending on weather conditions.
This kind of study encourages the keeping things the same, by allowing producers to continue to take all the honey. What link does nutrition have on the problems that bees are experiencing? Is this really a solution? Who sees themselves as benefiting from this idea? What are the downsides of doing this? Are their better solutions with a more holistic approach?
